  I was rear-ended recently, and I took my car into Gerber because they were one of the closest body shops that works with the insurance company of the other driver. It seemed like a pretty simple repair, didn't do a whole lot of cosmetic damage other than some scrapes and dents, and my car was driving fine when I brought it to Gerber.
  
  It took them over a week to get my car fixed, when I was told it would only be a few days originally. From the moment I picked it up, there was a loud thrumming sound coming from my left rear end. I called them the very next day as soon as I could to find out if they can take a look at and figure out what happened, and they made me wait a week before bringing it back in.
  
  When I finally had a chance to bring it back in, the manager or owner came out to drive the car to listen to the sound. After driving it, he claimed that it would possibly be a wheel bearing that was going bad, and that there's nothing that they could do, except send it to their mechanic, and if it was something that was caused by the accident then they would be responsible to fix it, but if it wasn't and if it was a bad wheel bearing, that I would have to take care of it on my own.
  
  From all the research that I've done, typically, the wheel bearings on a Toyota Prius pretty much lasts the life of the car. Also, when a wheel bearing DOES go bad, the sound starts off faint and gradually increases in volume over time. There was never any sound coming from my car before bringing it to Gerber, but yet upon receiving my car it was as loud as can be. There's no way to explain it, and they weren't willing to check my car out further.
  
  Never again. Take your car elsewhere.
